Bánh tráng trộn: Saigon's rice paper salad
Look for students gathered around a cart after school. There’s almost always a bag of bánh tráng trộn being shaken.
Bánh tráng trộn is Saigon’s favourite street snack: strips of rice paper tossed with dried beef or squid, quail eggs, green mango, Vietnamese coriander, peanuts, chilli oil and kumquat. It usually costs 15,000–30,000 VND. Order with “Cho tôi một phần bánh tráng trộn”.
