2 min readBy the Eat Green Vietnam team

Every family in Quảng Nam has an opinion on cơm gà – shredded or chopped, turmeric rice or plain, the chilli sauce thick or thin.

Quick answer

Cơm gà is Central Vietnam’s chicken rice: rice cooked in chicken stock (often with turmeric), topped with chicken, herbs, onion and papaya, with a small bowl of broth and a chilli sauce. Hội An and Tam Kỳ in Quảng Nam province are famous for it. It usually costs 35,000–60,000 VND. Order with “Cho tôi một đĩa cơm gà”.
